Digital Empowerment Training Coordinator

Reports to:  Community and Training Manager

Works directly with: Community and Training Team, Content team, Technology team, and the WP Program Director

Oversees:  Online training volunteers

The Digital Empowerment Training Coordinator helps establish World Pulse as a leader in providing transformative training to community leaders worldwide. Training programs include: Basic Digital Empowerment Training, Train-the-Trainer facilitation and co-facilitating the Voices of Our Future program.

The Online Training Coordinator works closely with the Online Training Lead and Community and Training Manager to implement, promote, support and grow World Pulse’s training programs and overall community.  This role creates and nurtures strong relationships with our training participants, support customer service related to training programs, and is a key supports in the facilitation of our training.

Candidates should be passionate about World Pulse’s mission, possess an outgoing and encouraging nature, enjoy organizing and directing volunteers, have excellent communication and writing skills, and thrive on empowering others to actualize and vocalize their visions for a better world.  Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in French or Spanish.


This is a half-time position and is subject to deductions for taxes and other withholdings as required by law and the policies of the organization. This is a non-exempt position. Salary is dependent on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

Digital Empowerment Training coordination and implementation

  • Co-facilitate the World Pulse basic digital empowerment training, Voices of Our Future program, and Train-the-Trainer workshops
  • Support training of Online Community leadership roles (Welcomers, Listeners, Translators, Mentors, Community Champions and Trainers)
  • Model active facilitation and membership in the community: participate in conversations by providing supportive comments, asking and answering questions and sparking dialogue between training applicants and participants
  • Create relationships with training participants.  This includes customer service, assist participants in using the World Pulse platform, facilitating online classrooms, and engaging with our online community
  • Model active facilitation and membership in the community: participate in conversations by providing supportive comments, asking and answering questions and sparking dialogue between training applicants and participants
  • Champion Digital Empowerment participation, Online community engagement and visibility across the World Pulse Team
  • Support production of training materials and curriculum for Online Community volunteers in alignment with approved WP training strategy
  • Participate as a member on key training program related calls
  • Research training opportunities and tools for innovation and expansion
  • Assist with the creation of content for recruitment and public relations communications of training programs
  • Help identify and cultivate success stories for programs team (breaking stories, opportunities, emerging leaders, etc.) and supports nominations of community members for opportunities
  • Work with Tech Team to ensure online training program needs are scheduled and met
  • Manage digital assets from training programs (call recordings, photos, videos)
  • Provide technical support for training program: web page editing, audio recording, spam blocking, and maintenance
  • Track training impact and lessons learned
  • Additional responsibilities related to training, as necessary

Team Responsibilities


  • Contribute to meeting of network/traffic growth goals through outreach activities and social media efforts.
  • Database Management: Log records of volunteers, training participant success stories, and metrics for online training programs and Online Community.
  • Support training, support, and management of online training volunteers
  • Actively participate in measuring and collecting data as set forth in Voices of Our Future and organizational log frames and reporting calendar and assist Program Director in monitoring and evaluation efforts as needed

Work Environment

  • As a global organization, team members must be available occasionally to conduct work outside of PST office hours with prior notice
