Introducing myself and my journal: Help Educate the Underprivileged Children in Pakistan

About Me:
My name is Aneela Shamshad and I am a Pakistani living in Islamabad. I work in development and feel that education is the only solution to most of the problems that my country is facing. The more I thought about it, the more convinced I was. Two years back I started a small school in a village outside Islamabad. The school was a one room facility which at that time catered to children from very poor families who had never been to school before. We just had one class which was a nursery class. One year later we started another class i.e. class 1 and furnished the classroom too. In 2014 we started a grade 2 and furnished another classroom. Today we have a staff of 3 teachers and a support person. We pay rent for the 3 rooms in which we are running the school. It is my desire to upgrade the school but on account of limited resources we are unable to do so.
In this school we do not charge any fee and we provide textbooks and exercise books for the students for free. Apart from that we also provide all the stationery for the year and all required learning aids that teachers may need.

My Passions:
I want to see all the underprivileged children of my country to have access to quality education.

My Challenges:
I have limited financial resources for making education available to all those children who are deprived of it.

My Vision for the Future:
Quality education for all children in Pakistan irrespective of their social status.

My Areas of Expertise:
Education
