Introducing myself and my journal: voicing out experiences

About Me:
My first experience as a voluntary worker was in 1996 when i was an undergraduate studying accountancy, i have since then felt this has being my calling. i have worked with young girls who have been victims of rape, educated in-school and out of school youths on reproductive health issues. i am currently working with low income earning women living with HIV who can bearly afford to sustain themselves and their children nutrition wise, i enjoy the interaction because it gives me the opportunity to counsel them and at the same time educate them on opportunities available for them to build their capacity thereby giving them a message of hope where they felt they had nothing to live for. Working with a developmental organisation has also given me the opportunity to work with women who have experienced domestic violence and those being put under pressure by family to circumcise their daughters, just being there to encourage advocate and educate women on these issues at the grassroot level has been a fulfilling experience as most of them are not very educated so do not have access to the necessary information.
