I’M BLACK AND PROUD

I’m ebony
‘Cause I’m dark in complexion
For their colour many undergo agony
Due to human disposition

Many bias practice racism
This wouldn’t curb my enthusiasm
As such, I maintain my dynamism
In any era of criticism

I’m black and proud
Sure can mingle in any crowd
My colour is not a defect
Therefore shouldn’t have an effect

Although regarded with contempt
Their actions don’t hinder my attempt
To proof my abilities
And parade my potentialities

I can’t be intimidated
By any race or colour
My pride can’t be eradicated
For I uphold my valour

My colour isn’t a deficiency
Neither does it limit my aptitude
I refuse to be debased
I’m confident of my solid base
