Turkana women and security challenges



Women from the Turkana pastoralists community in Nadapal Lokichogio, arm themselves following tension and attack by Toposa pastoralists from Southern Sudan along the Kenya-Sudan border. Last month armed Toposa engaged Kenyan security forces in a attack over border boundary control and water spot used by Turkana for their livestock. Kenya has since deployment the General Service Unit, administration police and soldiers near Nadapal in Turkana West.
