It really is the little things!

As with many others, the holiday season is a time of great stress. I am a married father of two teenage daughters. I am very proud of my girls and am glad that I have been able to give them a comfortable life free from many of the problems of my own childhood. However, the wanton pusuit of "stuff"' has left me empty and a little sad.

My wife approached me earlier last week and stated one of her colleagues at work knew of a family that was not going to get any gifts for Christmas, due to harsh economic climate. I told her please get them something even if it meant the kids and I would get less, as our blessings are already numerous.

Got word this morning that the mother is an African immigrant on her own, recieved the gifts and wept.

This is easily the best I have felt or will feel for the next two days.

At least my life brought some measure of joy to another.
