My Hopes and Dreams!

Women are the heart of the society the same way they are the heart of the family. Women are able to playing a key role in changing and shaping the future of our society. And they are doing already great things. We are agents for change. We have all it takes to make the world become the better place to live. Thanks to World Pulse for empowering women.

All I wanted in my life was to have education because I believed that through education I will become somebody in the society. As I grew up I realized that education does not really end. We keep learning whether in classes or outside classrooms! And it does not matter how old one is! We learn every day in our lives. I would want to use my knowledge and skills to be able to give back to the society by contributing to its well being. My contribution might be not significant but small is better than nothing. I believe if there is no peace less can be achieved. That is why I focus on Peacebuilding and conflict transformation as well as community development .

I would like to see peaceful and safer communities where there is justice, security and development. I want to see the world as a better place to live, where there is harmony, peaceful coexistence, the world free from violence whether gender based or any kind of violence, and where diversity in terms of coulour, religion, ethnic groups, gender (men and women) becomes our strength, a force to build and not to destroy. I look forward to see a just society hence a just world. Women for a very long period of time have been among marginalized, underestimated due to some cultural believes, have been victims but in this world I see in my dream is that one that would provide security to all.

Peace is very paramount. Poverty is some of the causes of conflicts, because people fight to have access to resources. Hence with wholistic development (that touches all aspect of life: economic, socio cultural, political, spiritual, we will be able to live in peace and harmony. We will be able to enjoy the fruits of our hard work. This development besides being wholistic it should also be inclusive (taking into consideration women and men as well as young people) because we all have to come together and improve our living standards hence develop our communities and nations.

Many times we have ideas or we need people to talk to, to share idea with but we lack means or ways of achieving this. Sometime you are not even sure whether you are communicating or they are people out there who would be interested in what you want to say. Most of the time women lack space or opportunities to share with others about their grievances, achievements and their efforts to change this society. They lack avenue to build one another. But here we have pulse. One does not have to walk miles away to get to know what is happening in the other part of the world.
Hence by being a Voices of Our Correspondent, this would enable me to let others know about our work, community, what is happening, it will help in terms of advocacy and awareness creation. Through me my community will speak, youth will speak, women will speak I will also speak. Because of the passion I have for young people, I will use this opportunity to reach out to the young people worldwide so that they become peace ambassadors. I will advocate for lasting peace through and will be able to mobilize youth to preach peace.

Conflicts are with us and are there to stay but I will advocate and create awareness with other peace ambassadors about the better way of managing the conflicts. Above all I will be able to raise the voice of women who are in areas with conflicts to say No to rape and sexual abuse; then Young people will be able to say No to Manipulation of any kind by any group with selfish interest. I will advocate for lasting Peace and development.
Thank you
