Introducing myself and my journal: south sudan Mothers reject polio Vaccination



About Me:
I am Joseph Edward Issa 26 years old, born in Morobo County, Central Equatoria State (CES), South Sudan, I am South Sudanese by birth and nationality, live in Juba the Capital of South Sudan, graduate of mass communication, Agape Christian University of Science and Technology in 2009. After my studies, I attended three months post graduate course on Gender and social reporting organized by Association of Media women in South Sudan, Juba, after the course, I join the work citizen Journalism and become a reporter of citizen newspaper a local publisher and I saved as a reporter for a period of one year, after the declined of my contract with the company.
I was automatically contracted as a senior reporter for Sudan Tribune newspaper early 2010, I saved as a reporter of the Sudan tribune, I attended number of shot courses on post conflict reporting, investigative Journalism, advance editing skills and Referendum reporting with the France International School of Journalism. As an interested young Journalist and when my contract ended with Sudan Tribune in 2011, I joint www.allvoices.com and Africanews.com online medias based in Ghana and I become the first South Sudanese reporter for the network based in South Sudan, in my position with Africa News network, I was contracted to train Junior Journalists on border management reporting at the borders of South Sudan, Democratic republic of Congo and Central Africa Republic and conducted forums on borders management with the concern authorities on the borderlines.
In 2011 late I was assigned by the network to investigate stories that were not know and reach communities whose voices could not be reached by broadcasters. As a Journalists based at the three borders, my mission was to reach many Medias to help dissemination of information about the communities at the border areas. As reporter of the Africa network I was able to file reports on the South Sudan intertribal clashes that claimed over five thousand people with abduction of the more than ten thousand cattle in Jonglei State, South Sudan since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005. And I also filed a report on the South Sudan and Uganda border disputes in December 2011.
In my profession, I picked interest in conflict, crisis and disasters reporting. I have saved as reporter for four years and last I was employed to be a news editor for the STAR newspaper local publisher. My role is to oversee reporters, create headline for social, economy and political stories, identify the main stories of the week and identify the sources. Investigate political and corruption cases. Cover border issues particularly on immigration and disease transmission. Edit social, economy and political stories and act as the managing editor in absence of the managing editor and direct the stories to the managing editor for total approval as the freedom of expression in my country is not free. Represent the media house in conference and answer any question that is concern with news published in the STARnewspaper.
