Introducing myself and my journal: The Microphone and Me

About Me:
I like to discover the beauty in everyone I meet. This is my inspiration in following a career in Broadcast Journalism. Working for a local television station in Buffalo has allowed me to meet people on a daily basis and share their stories with the rest of the community. I have a passion for helping others and bringing a positive attitude to those around me.

I attended Buffalo State College and developed a strong interest in the news business. After multiple internships in television, newspaper, and radio newsrooms, I became confident in my decision to go after a job in reporting. After what seemed like four long and tiring years of college classes, I was walking across stage with diploma in hand. It actually went by too fast! I was thrown into the real world and was very worried about finding a job in my field. But three weeks later, I was saying "yes" to a video journalist position at a 24-hour news station in my hometown. I had butterflies in my stomach, both nervous and excited for the adventures and obstacles I would be facing.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends. I have a VERY large family that offer me the love and support I want and need. My friends mean the world to me, and I have few that I can completely count on, but trust those I keep close to me. I live on my own, and embrace my independence. I am a pretty simple gal. I prefer to stay home, and drink wine with my room mates. Living the life I want to live.

My fears: Heights, Creepy Crawlers, and Snuffleupagus from Sesame Street.
My likes: Home cooked meals, Sunshine, Camping
