L'INTERNET DEVIENT UNE FACILITE AU CONGO

La R. D. Congo est un vaste pays potentiellement riche mais qui connait encore un retard d’adaptation aux nouvelles découvertes de la technologie de l’informatique. Ce retard d’adaptation est lié à sa politique fiscale et douanière qui n’exonère pas des taxes sur les produits informatique à l’instar des autres pays voisins.
La connexion internet est de plus un luxe qui n’est pas offert à toutes les couches sociales et moins encore aux femmes Congolaises à faible revenue. La connexion à la fibre optique serait une solution pouvant réduire les couts élevés de l’internet, malheureusement notre pays la R.D.Congo n’y est pas encore connecté.
C’est dans ce vaste pays à problème que se trouve le centre médiatique Maman shujaa où les services internet et formation informatique sont offerts gratuitement aux femmes à faibles revenue.
Ce centre devient ainsi un arbre rare du désert où viennent s’accrocher comme des passereaux, des femmes et filles de toutes les communautés de la ville de Bukavu. Sa faible capacité d’accueil ne lui permet pas de répondre à toutes les demandes.
Quelques hommes rares y sont aussi admis en raison de leur appartenance à des associations sans but lucratifs organisées par des femmes dont l’auteur. L’internet représente pour moi une chance et un instrument qui facilite mes recherches et ma communication. Les lointains deviennent proches, le travail devient facile grâce à l’internet. Le centre Maman shujaa devient un pont qui relie les femmes des différentes communautés congolaises aux autres femmes du monde.

DRC is a potentially rich and large country but also a country which is still slow in adapting to new discoveries of information technology. This delay in adaption is related to its tax and customs policy which does not exempt tax for information technology product following what other neighboring countries do.

The internet connection is more of a luxury which is not offered to all social classes and even less to Congo women with low income. The connection to the optical fiber is a solution that can reduce the high cost of internet, unfortunately our country DRC is not yet connected.

It is in this vast and troubled country that Maman Shujaa media center comes into play; here, internet and computer training services are offered for free to women with low income.

The center also becomes a rare desert tree where like sparrows, women and girls of all communities of Bukavu cling to. It does not have the capacity to meet all the demands.

A few men are also recognized for their relationship to non-profit organizations organized by women. For me, internet is an opportunity and a tool that facilitates my research and my communication. The people far apart from each other get closer, the job becomes easy thanks to the internet. The Maman Shujaa center becomes a bridge that connects women of different Congolese communities to other women in the world.
