Democracy and the freedom of the citizens

Hon. Gaston KANGELE MUBAWA is the Chairman of the NGO for the Defense of human rights and Development GSYPAD (Global Synergy for Peace and Development) an organization based in Goma in the Province of North Kivu. He was kidnapped since December 24, 2014 at 1pm by some men in uniform of the Congolese forces FARDC in Goma to a destination which has now been discovered.

Our sources report that he must be in a dungeon of the Police force of information in Goma under conditions which threaten his physical health following tortures he has endured from his torturers. A practice revealing that the situation of human rights in DRC continues to worsen, especially the freedom of expression of the citizens.

Since these events he has never been heard by the justice to know the valid reason for him being held in jail till today.

That is why we ask our colleagues of the human rights, and peace and Development to raise our voices as only one person and get him released in the immediate future and prove to those who support impunity that the time of social injustice is over.

We are calling on competent authorities of the Province and of central government to order his release without condition and his rehabilitation in his rights.
