About Me:
Sameer Showkin is a Srinagar-based journalist. He has done his P.G in Mass Communication and Journalism from Islamic University of Science and technology (IUST) in 2011. Since then, he has worked as an internee with the Indian Express, worked with the leading online web portal Kashmir Dispatch. Formerly, he worked as a staff reporter with The Rising Kashmir, a daily newspaper, and now is working as a senior correspondent with The Kashmir Monitor, the fastest growing daily. Mr Sameer has extensively reported mass unrest of Kashmir in 2009 and 2010. Besides this, he has done exposed the increasing number of baby deaths in a local government run children hospital.
