World Pulse's Impact In India

A network effect is taking place across India on World Pulse, where more leaders are actively raising their voices, sharing stories, accessing resources, and making meaningful connections with one another online. In our 2019 Impact Survey, World Pulse leaders shared that they have impacted the lives of more than 385,000 people across India.
They are leading change on issues such as:
- Raising international awareness on human rights abuses against Dalit people;
- Organizing women in Mumbai to improve implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act;
- Giving village women small grants to buy cattle for a livelihood.
Over the past year, the number of World Pulse badged leaders from India has grown by 57% and the number of resources and opportunities that have been shared grew by 1,000%. Survey respondents also reported that, as a result of their involvement with World Pulse:
- 80% took action to improve their community.
- 78% grew their network and made valuable connections.
- 80% of the women in India shared that in the last year, as a result of their participation in World Pulse they have seen increases in their own confidence, self-efficacy, and resilience.
