Movement of poetry in the City of God
Sep 25, 2019
Story
Dear Sisters of the WorlPulse, we are living a very special moment in the City of God.
At the end of 2018 I produced the book by Dona Tuca and she can finally open her first book at age 85, but the poetry of the favela did not stop there.
Today January 23, 2019, thanks to the movement Poesia de Esquina, made by local poets and coordinated by Viviane de Salles to Vivi Salles, will be the launch of a collection composed of 38 poets and local friends.
Vivi Salles is sociologist, poetess and coordinator of the poetry movement of the corner.
I am one of the poets of the Poesia de Esquina movement.
I share the launch of the event because I know the importance of this action in the current moment in which our country lives.
The Favela is armed with books, words, culture, discovering ways to survive the inequalities imposed on it by the public power because they are on the margins of public policies.
Congratulations to Vivi Salles, team and all the poets. LONG LIVE THE WORD! the WORD IS ALIVE!

There Will be poem reciting, musical shows and autograph sessions and debating “how to stimulate interess for poetry writting and reading in the slum?”.
