Bringing Electricity to Rural India
“You know sisters, World Pulse taught me how to write. I wrote an article on government negligence in Manipur and no electricity for 20 years. It was carried by several local newspapers yesterday. The government noticed and now Chief Minister made his secretary call me and said the government will work on it right away. The village has started celebrations.”

Empowering Women through Industry
“I started a women led industry where disposable sanitary pads are made using locally sourced material such as banana stem fibers. This has changed the lives of women and girls in many communities as they can now afford and access sanitary pads. Women are also empowered economically through job creation in the industry. The mindset of the community has also changed through our workshops on menstrual hygiene management in schools, churches, and universities. This initiative has changed my life as well as it has empowered me in my community and the world.”

Advocating for Women’s Health
“I have been campaigning for health and wellness for women and girls in our poor urban and rural communities. I successfully held a Health & Wellness Day where we invited speakers to talk to women on factors affecting their health and wellness. We provided free medical consultation, breast cancer examination, and cervical cancer screenings to the women. We have also been campaigning to #KeepTheGirlsInSchool by providing reusable sanitary pads to girls in disadvantaged communities.”
