Disability Justice

Share your story for a more inclusive world.

Women with disabilities are bold leaders who are ushering in a more inclusive world. While we face a myriad of challenges including increased rates of violence, fewer opportunities to access education and employment, as well as rampant ableism and stigma, we have a powerful defense against exclusion: our stories.

Join us as we share our stories and spotlight our solutions to the most pressing issues, concerns, and challenges facing women with disabilities across the globe.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Tell us your story. What events have shaped your life and led you to be the woman you are today?
  • Are you leading an organization or project? Tell us about your successes and your dreams.
  • What challenges or discrimination have you faced, and how have you overcome these barriers? What changes are needed?
  • What do you want the world to know about you or about women with disabilities generally?
  • What solutions and innovations can governments, organizations, faith-based institutions, tech companies, and/or individuals adopt to better support people with disabilities?
  • Share a story about an experience you had where you felt included. What did this experience mean to you?
  • Imagine a truly accessible and inclusive world — what does it look like and how can we get there?

No matter the story you have to tell about Disability Justice, share it here. You can share your story in any language and in any format, including video submissions (upload your story first to a platform like YouTube or Vimeo and share the link). Stories received by 21 November may be highlighted in a special content package for International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December). In addition, World Pulse will select five or more Featured Storytellers throughout the campaign to receive a special $300 USD honorarium.
