About Me:
I direct Emory's Institute for Developing Nations (IDN), a collaboration between Emory University and The Carter Center. IDN develops and supports programs that connect research and learning at Emory with The Carter Center's efforts to advance human rights and alleviate human suffering. I am also a wife and a mother of two. My family is has roots in many parts of the world - Europe, Africa, South Asia and North America - so I like to consider myself a citizen of the world. Women's rights are very important to me and finding ways to advance women's rights is a thread that runs through all facets of both personal and professional life.
