My journey
Jan 21, 2015
First story
A eight years old marriage that never worked and a child; a difficult divorce, it was a 2 year nightmare. My job that can hardly pay for the bills . My back is against the wall. It is a serious decision I need to take and both my life and my son’s depend on whatever options I will choose for our future.
I am going to Paris where my mother is from.
I left the Ivory Coast as a dance teacher and the women's coordinator for the campaign on Violence Against Women for Amnesty International in the country.
In France, in less than four years I was an executive bilingual assistant for one of the 5 most important Industrial property Law firms in Europe, a guest choreographer for the National Ballet of Mali and a member of the executive committee of the International Dance Council-UNESCO.
Today, I live in the USA where I teach French in a private preparatory school in northern Georgia. I have a directorship position at one of the prestigious language institutions of the country. I am a co-writer of an award winning book and my son just graduated from high school, he is going to study Diplomacy in College.
During my journey I lost my best friend. My father passed away in 2005. You don't know how much you love somebody until you lose this person. I am still mourning him but I know NOW how much he loved me.
