The Agroecology for Climate Action initiative is a continental campaign in 12 African countries under the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa.These countries are Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria, Togo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The overall goal of the campaign is “Agroecology recognised in national, regional and international policy spaces and frameworks as a strategy for climate change adaptation and mitigation in Africa.”At national level the objective of the campaign is to influence national climate policy frameworks, plans and strategies to reflect agroecology as an adaptation and mitigation measure for climate change.
In Kenya , the initiative was implemented by 3 organisations namely: Haki Nawiri Afrika , Regional Schools and Colleges Permaculture and Indigenous Women and Girls Initiative.
