Maryam Ahemed Hamman, Representative for Nigerian Women Voices Matter had observed in her studies that rural area women have unlimited potentials when she is uplifted and empowered. When the woman becomes lifted, so does the household, and the society, therefore, grows faster because she has the potential once her human capital is enhanced.

In September 2021, I set out on a quest to build bridges of support with women and women-led outreaches across the country of Nigeria. Why? because charity starts at home.

I was on a mission to expose the passionate heart of women in a developing country, women who were willing to educate, impact and empower women within their reach.

What I stumbled upon was mind-blowing. No matter how poor, how rich, how educated, how uneducated, living in a tent or a mansion. I found selfless women willing to help another woman.

As a foreigner in Nigeria, raising a Nigerian daughter. I felt it was my duty to step up and help my daughter, who identified herself as an American citizen, and also a citizen of Nigeria.

I selected 30 states due to the safety concerns of my teammates.

And on September 29th, 2021, the day after my mother's birthday. I stepped out on Faith and started an extension to Woman of Purpose Worldwide a USA-registered network I founded in 1999. This extension would be called Nigerian Women Voices Matter.

The network was publicly introduced via social media on September 29th, 2021. And on October the 20th, 2021 we welcome our the 1st network member. By the 1st week of November, NWVM had processed over 100 approved applicants, with 47 active volunteer members.

Women share their stories, community outreaches, and resourceful information. Friendships and meet-ups are being formulated, and our 1st national leadership and network convention have been confirmed.

Today, November 17, 2021, we have an estimate of 200 membership applicants waiting to be processed into our CRM database and more coming by the hour.

From housewives to honorable women in politics; in less than 60days, NWVM has already covered over 20 plus states across the nation of Nigeria.

Who are We?

We are an independent movement of women and women-led community outreaches across Nigeria. Physically, building formidable bridges of support to iMpact communities together.

Together We Can Arise!
