Socio-economically empower waste pickers with me

Building leadership skills in the waste-picker community living in Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara districts of Maharashtra state, who are utterly poor and are deprived of many civic facilities s they are unaware of their rights. I am impacting them to know and understand the 2016 Solid Waste Management Act and how it applies to their community. Once they are aware of their role and rights , they will lead their fellow waste pickers in accessing these rights.

In furtherance of this, the Standing Committees of Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara Districts Municipal Corporations will employ 500 waste pickers each (1,500 total) in waste segregation work by the end of the year 2020."
